On October 24, 2023, at approximately 12:55 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1700 block of McDonald Street for a report of a break and enter in progress. Information provided to police stated that a suspect male had broken into a compound and when the suspect was approached by a staff member, the suspect revealed a bladed weapon.
Patrol officers and members of the Canine Unit attended to the compound and located the suspect male hiding nearby. The male was taken into police custody without incident. The Police Service Dog did not make contact with the suspect. In a search following the arrest, police located a bladed weapon and the male was also found to be in breach of a Conditional Sentence Order. As a result:
Thirty-five year-old Steven Adam BROWN, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Break and Enter With Intent [CC 348 (1)(A)];
- Possession of Break and Enter Instruments [CC 351(1)];
- Assault With A Weapon [CC 267 (A)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- Breach Conditional Sentence Order [CC 742.6(1)].
BROWN made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this afternoon (October 24, 2023) at 2:00 p.m.
