On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a Regina Police Service School Resource Officer was notified of a person with a firearm near a high school on the 1200 block of College Avenue. Information received was that a male revealed a firearm to a student, then left. The school was placed into Secure-The-Building protocol.
Police investigation led to a residence on the 1500 block of Bond Street. Police members, including the Special Weapons And Tactics Team, surrounded the residence. Because the residence was near an elementary school on the 1200 block of 9th Avenue, the nearby elementary school was also placed in Secure-The-Building.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the 18 year-old male exited from the residence and was arrested by police. Secure-The-Building was lifted at both schools. A firearm has not been recovered.
Eighteen year-old Chace Larry CONSTABLE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)].
CONSTABLE makes his first appearance on this charge in Provincial Court today, Friday, October 20, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
