A 36 year-old male from Regina is facing a charge of extortion following an investigation into a reported incident which took place in January 2023.
The victim, an elected provincial government official, told police that he was approached by the suspect who asked the victim to support him in a local political election process. When the victim refused, the suspect threatened to cause harm to his personal and professional life.
As a result of this investigation, 36 year-old Harpinder Singh BAJWA is charged with:
- Extortion [CC 346.1].
BAJWA will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court this afternoon (July 14, 2023) at 2:00 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
