A male is facing eleven charges after investigation into a series of robberies and thefts in Regina.
On February 18, 2022, police were dispatched to a robbery in progress at a retail business on the 4100 block of Albert Street. A masked suspect entered the store, asked to see an expensive jewelry, then pointed a firearm and fled with the merchandise.
On February 26, 2022, police were notified that a male attempted to sell the jewelry at a pawn shop, and the fled the scene without the jewelry. The jewelry was confirmed to be the same as stolen on February 18.
On March 7, 2022, police were dispatched to a retail business on the 400 block of North Albert Street, where a male fled with an expensive piece of jewelry, and again on May 10, 2022, where a similar robbery occurred at a retail business on the 2900 block of Gordon Road.
A break and enter also occurred on November 19, 2022 at a retail business on the 1800 block of Scarth Street, where a glass front door was damaged and merchandise was stolen.
Investigation into these offences led to a 21 year-old male, who was arrested on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and subsequently charged with the thefts.
Twenty-one year-old Mohammed HADDAD, of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(b)];
- Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of Indictable Offence [CC 85(2)(a)];
- 4 X Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)];
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 [CC 355(a)];
- Trafficking of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 [CC 355.2];
- 2 X Theft Over $5,000 [CC 344(a)]; and
- Break and Enter and Commit Theft Over $5,000 [CC 348(1)(b)].
HADDAD makes his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court March 23, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
