On Saturday January 7, 2023, at 12:05am, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Oakview Drive for a report of shots fired at a house. When police arrived they learned that residents of the house were awakened by the sound of shots and glass breaking. Upon arrival, police confirmed a firearm was discharged into the house. Fortunately, no one inside the residence was injured. While police were interviewing the victims, a Regina Police Canine Officer conducted a track which led police to a residence on Lloyd Crescent.
A number of persons were located inside the residence. The investigation led to the arrest of one adult male and two male youths without incident.
A twenty year-old male has been charged with:
- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(A)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88]
The male will make his first court appearance on these charges February 21, 2023.
A sixteen year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(A)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88]
The youth is scheduled to make his first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on February 21, 2023.
A seventeen year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner [CC 244.2(1)(A)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88]
The youth is scheduled to make his first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on February 21, 2023.
