On December 8, 2022, shortly after midnight, police observed a vehicle which had been reported stolen days earlier, in the area of 4th Avenue and Lewvan Drive. Police attempted a traffic stop in a parking lot on the 4400 block of 4th Avenue, but the vehicle evaded police, proceeding onto 4th Avenue, where it was struck by a westbound vehicle.
Police arrested the 20 year-old male driver of the vehicle without incident. He was found to be in breach of conditions of a release order. He did not appear to have sustained injuries and refused medical attention.
The occupants of the second vehicle also did not appear to have sustained injury. The driver was identified and found to have a suspended driver’s license and multiple warrants for traffic-related offenses. He was ticketed for driving while disqualified and advised to take care of his warrants.
