The Regina Police Service is asking for information from the public that may assist in two armed robbery investigations that are believed to be connected.
The first call came into the RPS Communications Centre at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 23, 2022. The caller stated that he and a female passenger were sitting in a vehicle in the 4000 block of Retallack Street when a dark-coloured truck with three occupants pulled up next to them. Two males exited the vehicle, one approached the driver’s side and threatened the driver with a gun. The second approached the passenger side and pulled out a large bladed weapon. They demanded the victims hand over any personal belongings and leave the area. The victims fled the scene. The suspects stole various banking cards and a purse. No one was physically injured. The suspects are described as wearing dark-coloured clothing and balaclavas.
A short time later, at approximately 3:40 a.m., police were called to the 2800 block of Lakeview Avenue. Two female victims were in a car when a male suspect ran up and started hitting the window. He then pulled out a gun and pressed it up against the glass. The victims were able to drive away. The male attempted to chase after them. In this instance no one was physically injured and nothing was taken from the vehicle. The suspect in this case is described as wearing jeans, a white hoodie, mid-30’s with a black medical mask.
