On September 30, 2022 at approximately 12:55 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Albert Street for a report of a robbery. Early information suggested that a female was walking through the parking lot of a business and was approached by a male. The suspect male asked the female for money, and when she refused, the male then assaulted the female. He then stole items from her person and fled.
A short time later, police received a report of a male acting erratically at a business in the 2300 block of 12th Avenue. The male suspect was said to have punched a security guard at the business and then left on foot towards Victoria Park. A description of the male matched the description of the suspect male from the robbery. Police located the suspect male in Victoria Park and he was arrested and taken into police custody. As a result:
Fifty-three year-old Dwayne Leroy NAYNEECASSUM, of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344 (1)(B)],
- Assault [CC 266].
NAYNEECASSUM made his first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges this morning, October 3, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
