Police are asking the public for their assistance in an investigation into a firearm discharge that occurred overnight.
During the early morning of September 1, 2022, at approximately 4:05 a.m., police were dispatched to east Regina for the report of a firearms offence. Police arrived to the dispatch area and learned that two people were driving down Sandhills Crescent where they witnessed three males going through vehicles in the area.
As the witnesses drove away, two vehicles followed them onto Chuka Drive, and as the vehicle turned westbound onto Sage Drive, they heard what sounded like gunshots, and felt their driver side front tire go flat. The two vehicles then took off southbound on Chuka Drive. No one was physically injured in this instance.
Police are requesting that residents in the area with video surveillance check for overnight activity that could assist in this investigation. Anyone who can assist in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
