As Queen City Ex 2022 has officially wrapped up, the Regina Police Service is happy to report that there were few incidents requiring police attention over the five days.
The Regina Police Service had a presence at QCX 2022, working in conjunction with REAL District Security. RPS members dealt with three assaults, a couple of consensual fights (no injuries), and a handful of intoxicated persons and people ejected from the grounds for disorderly behavior. There were also a few cases in which people tried to bring in prohibited items.
One incident to note was a bear spray incident that occurred on Sunday, August 7, near the Ferris wheel, and affected about 40 individuals. This incident is still under investigation and the Regina Police Service asks that anyone with information 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
While some investigations are still ongoing, there have been no criminal charges laid so far.
It is important to remember that the REAL District (the location of the Queen City Ex) is City of Regina property, and is operated by the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL). As operator of the entire event complex, REAL sets the rules about what visitors can bring onto the grounds and how they should behave. Disorderly conduct, including intoxication, can get you ejected from the grounds. All criminal matters will be dealt with by the Regina Police Service, working in conjunction with REAL District Security.
The Regina Police Service thanks visitors and residents for their cooperation. We also thank the REAL District Security and other partners in community safety.
