A closer look at suspicious activity in the 2000 block of Retallack Street this morning (Monday) led to the seizure of a variety of drugs and charges for two adults.
On Monday, August 8, 2022, at approximately 5:05 a.m., a member of the Canine Unit noticed what appeared to unusual behavior involving a vehicle circling the 2000 block of Retallack Street and a male passenger. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the male was wanted on warrants and also had a 24 hour curfew. When other police units arrived to assist, the male passenger was arrested. Police located a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl in a holder in the passenger door. That led to the arrest of the driver and a search of the vehicle, which yielded quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, three cell phones, a quantity of cash, and paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking. A search of the driver also found a small quantity of methamphetamine. The driver and passenger were jointly charged.
Forty-four year-old James Albert Cecil SEAL and 37 year-old Trisha Dawn SITTER, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- 4 x Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA; and
- Possession of the Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, s. 355(b)
SEAL was also charged with Breach of Probation, s. 733.1(1) CC, and Breach of Recognizance, s. 145(5)(a) CC. Both accused persons will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022.
