A 44 year-old Regina Male is facing weapons charges after an incident in Regina early this morning (Friday).
On Friday, August 5, 2022, police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of a male at that address who had been sprayed with bear spray. The 42 year-old victim was able to give a description of the suspect, including a clothing description. Police located and assisted the victim, and then conducted an area search. They found a male matching the suspect description in an alley just west of where the assault occurred. The suspect male initially fled into a structure, but emerged a short time later and was taken into custody. Police located a canister of bear spray as well as a revolver-style BB Gun. The suspect male was charged.
Forty-four year-old Adam Christopher Neil CHARTRAND, of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault With a Weapon (bear spray), s. 267(a) CC;
- Possession of a Weapon (bear spray) for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace, s. 88 CC; and
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Order, s. 117.01(1) CC.
CHARTRAND was released on an Undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on these charges on September 20, 2022.
