One man is charged after investigation into a recent armed robbery.
On July 15, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police were dispatched to an armed robbery at a business on the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue East. Information received was that a male armed with a firearm stole merchandise and fled. Police arrived and a member of the Regina Police Service Canine Unit began a track of the suspect, which led police to some of the discarded merchandise but was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Further investigation into the incident led to the identity of a 21 year-old male, who was arrested and charged on Friday, July 22, 2022. A search warrant was authorized at his residence, where evidence related to the incident was located. The firearm used in the incident was determined to be an airsoft gun.
Twenty-one year-old Randall HART Jr., of Regina, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)]; and
- Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence [CC 85(2)(A)].
The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
