The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation into a recent collision between a cyclist and a truck on June 26, 2022. Earlier this week, police learned of the death of the cyclist involved in the collision at Dewdney Avenue and Garnet Street.
The collision occurred just before 7:13 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th. The early investigation indicated a truck was travelling westbound on Dewdney Avenue in the right hand lane. At the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Garnet Street, there was a collision between the truck and an adult male cyclist. The driver remained at the scene. Police received several calls and numerous first responders rushed to the area. The injured male was taken to hospital by EMS and police secured the area for the purposes of the investigation. On July 3rd, police were advised that the 28 year-old injured cyclist had died in hospital.
Investigators have been in contact with both the family of the deceased person and the driver to advise them of this development in the investigation. This investigation is continuing.
