An adult male and adult female are facing multiple weapons and drug charges after an incident late last week – Thursday, April 7, 2022.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. members of the Street Gangs Unit were conducting a drug and firearms investigation which led to a traffic stop in the 2000 Block of McTavish Street. Members of the SWAT and Canine Unit were called in to assist, as investigators had reason to believe there were firearms in the vehicle.
Initial attempts to get all suspects to exit the vehicle were not successful and, as a result, officers determined that a tool used to break windows from a distance was necessary.
Following the deployment, all three suspects exited the vehicle and were arrested without further incident. A search of the vehicle and the suspects turned up methamphetamine, fentanyl, Canadian currency and other items that are consistent with drug trafficking. A loaded firearm and ammunition were also recovered from the vehicle.
As a result of this investigation an adult male and adult female are facing charges.
Twenty-eight year-old Cain Michael LINDAHL is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [5(2) CDSA];
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000.00 [355(b) CC];
- Possession of a Weapon [88 CC];
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [86(1) CC];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC];
- 3 x Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1) CC].
Thirty-six year-old Clara Vanessa RAINVILLE is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [5(2) CDSA];
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000.00 [355(b) CC];
- Possession of a Weapon [88 CC];
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [86(1) CC]; and
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC].
Both LINDAHL and RAINVILLE made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2 p.m.
