The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed enforcement on Friday, March 4, 2022, in relation to illegal drug trafficking within the City of Regina. The RDU executed four CDSA search warrants throughout Regina located in the 1200 block of N Galloway Street, 4200 block of Castle Road, 1900 block of Reynolds Street and the 200 block of Smith Street.
As a result of the enforcement, 34 year-old Arafat MOUSA of Edmonton, Alberta, 29 year-old Kamalladin NUR of Edmonton, Alberta, 22 year-old Mohamed Abukar MOHAMUD of Scarborough, Ontario, 25 year-old Mahdi Abdullahi MAHDI of Etobicoke, Ontario, 21 year-old Dahir MAHAMED of York, Ontario, 24 year-old Daniel JOHNSON of Toronto, Ontario, and 33 year-old Daineol Wilmer JOHNSON of Edmonton, Alberta, were arrested in relation to the investigation. Approximately 420 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of fentanyl, $21,000.00 in currency, along with multiple cell phones, digital scales and other evidence to support drug trafficking, were seized.
The accused were all jointly charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine – CDSA -S.5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl – CDSA -S.5(2) CDSA
- Possessing proceeds of crime over $5000 – CCC-S.355(a) CCC
In addition, NUR, MOHAMUD and MAHAMED were also charged with the following offence:
- Fail to comply with a release order – CCC- S. 145(5)(A).
NUR was remanded into custody while the remaining accused persons have their first court appearance on April 20, 2022.
