A 26 year-old Regina male is facing numerous weapons-related charges as the result of a ten-month, integrated investigation into the trafficking of firearms and drugs.
On February 1, 2022, the Regina Crime Reduction Team* conducted an ongoing ten-month firearms and drug trafficking investigation. This was both an inter-provincial and intra-provincial investigation that partnered with the Calgary Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). This portion of the ongoing investigation centered on the trafficking of both Restricted and Non-restricted firearms.
On February 1, 2022, police arrested and charged 26 year-old Manolito Nicodemus TAN, of Regina. He is facing ten (10) charges of Weapons Trafficking, contrary to Section 99 of the Criminal Code of Canada. He is also charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm as per Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
TAN made first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
*The Integrated Crime Reduction Team (ICRT) is comprised of personnel from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Regina Police Service. They receive funding for resources and operations from the Government of Saskatchewan through the Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing. ICRT’s primary mandate focus is on provincial priorities surrounding violent gang activity, illegal guns associated to gang activity and/or organized crime, drug activity with primary focus on Methamphetamine and Opioids, and property crimes including auto theft in municipal and rural areas.
