The Regina Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance for information regarding a vehicle/pedestrian collision from Wednesday evening that sent one person to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Police were dispatched, at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, to the Walmart parking lot at 2150 Prince of Wales Drive for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation at the scene indicates a dark colored, blue / black, GMC four door truck was travelling west-bound from Westfair Road across Prince of Wales Drive onto the boulevard in the Walmart parking lot. A pedestrian was standing on the boulevard and was struck by the GMC truck. The GMC truck then continued westbound through the parking lot onto Quance Street fleeing the scene.
The victim, a 51 year-old male, was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious. Several officers assisted in this incident with traffic control, collection of physical evidence from the scene, initial contact with the driver, follow-up at hospital, etc. This collision is still under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
