The Regina Police Service is reporting that the death investigation following the discovery of a deceased person in a house fire yesterday, December 16, 2021, carried out by the Regina Police Service and Coroner’s Service, and the subject of a previous news release, is now a homicide investigation.
Police and RFPS were dispatched at approximately 10:49 a.m. on December 16, 2021, to the 1400 block of Cameron Street for a report of a house fire. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered a deceased person and the investigation shifted to include a death investigation by police and the coroner. Investigation into the matter has determined the death to be the result of homicide. The victim, an adult male, has been identified, and next of kin have been notified. The victim’s identity will not be released at this time.
