Investigation into a recent Break & Enter in Regina has led to charges against a 34 year-old male.
Sometime on the night of November 19, 2021, an unidentified person or persons, unlawfully gained entry to premises, in the 1500 block of 12th Avenue, operated by a Regina charity. The suspect(s) removed several items from offices including computers, a safe containing gift cards and cash, as well as other items. Police were dispatched the next day, when the break-in and theft was discovered by staff at the agency. Police were able to obtain evidence, including video footage that eventually led to identification of a potential suspect. The suspect was arrested on December 8, 2021, at the Regina Correctional Centre, and charged in the November 19th Break, Enter and Theft. This Break and Enter is still under active investigation.
Thirty-four year-old Kyle James EDWARDS, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break, Enter and Commit Theft, s. 348(1)(b) CC;
- Breach of Release Order, s. 145(5)(a) CC; and
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (credit card), s. 355(b) CC.
EDWARDS made his first court appearance in connection with these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
