The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed enforcement on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in relation to illegal drug trafficking within the City of Regina.
The RDU executed a CDSA search warrant on a residence in the Albert Park area of Regina.
As a result of the enforcement, 25 year-old Liban Mohamed YOUSUF and 22 year-old Abdulahi Abdirashid ALI, both of Toronto, Ontario, were arrested in relation to the investigation.
Over 200 grams of fentanyl, 170 grams of cocaine, $6700.00 in currency, along with multiple cell phones, digital scales and other evidence to support drug trafficking were seized.
YOUSUF and ALI were jointly charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine – S.5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl – S.5(2) CDSA
- Possessing proceeds of crime over $5000 – S.355(a) CC.
YOUSUF and ALI made their first court appearance on October 29, 2021.
