A 33 year-old Regina woman is charged after an armed robbery yesterday, October 27, 2021.
On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, shortly after 3:00 p.m., police were assisting with an unrelated matter on 11th Avenue near Scarth Street when they were approached by security guards. The guards pointed out a female who had just stolen merchandise from the nearby shopping centre, and informed police that she was in possession of a firearm. Police commanded the female to stop, but she continued.
Police followed the female into an alley where she was observed discarding the firearm. She was then taken into custody without incident. The firearm, an AirSoft weapon resembling a semi-automatic handgun, was retrieved by police. The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.
Thirty-three year-old Jocelynne MCKAY, of Regina is charged with: Armed Robbery Using a Firearm [CC 344(1)(A.1)].
MCKAY made her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, October 28, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.
