A 21 year-old male is facing charges, including impaired operation causing bodily harm, after a collision on the weekend, involving four vehicles.
On October 17, 2021, just after 7:00 p.m., police responded to a multi-vehicle collision in the 3900 block of James Hill Road. Initial investigation indicated the subject vehicle was travelling north on James Hill Road, when it became wedged between another north-bound vehicle and a south-bound vehicle. The subject vehicle then struck a parked vehicle. Police allege that the driver of the vehicle, a 21 year-old male, was driving at a high rate of speed with a person holding onto the hood of the vehicle. During the collision that person was thrown away from the vehicle and, fortunately, received relatively minor injuries. One of the other drivers also sustained relatively minor injuries. The male driver of the subject vehicle was arrested; investigation led to a total of four charges.
Twenty-one year-old Guruka Darcy MBILIZI, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, s. 320.14(2) CC;
- Exceed blood alcohol level of 80 milligrams, s. 320.14(1) CC; and
- Operate conveyance (vehicle) in a manner dangerous to public, s. 32013(a) CC.
The accused was released with a court date of November 3, 2021, in Provincial Court.
