A 49 year-old male, who is a teacher in a Regina high school, has been arrested and charged with sexual offences, including sexual exploitation. This is the result of investigation into what was described as social media communication of a sexual nature with a female youth.
On Thursday, September 2, 2021, the Regina Police Service was made aware of what was described as an inappropriate relationship/communication between an adult male teacher and a female young person. The investigators immediately gathered initial statements and made arrangements to ensure the safety of the student. As the result of investigation, a 49 year-old male was arrested without incident. School administration is aware of this investigation. The Regina Police Service will not name the specific school at this time, as all who need to know will be made aware. This decision also helps to protect the victim’s identity and privacy. This investigation is ongoing.
Forty-nine year-old Jeffrey G. DUMBA, of Regina, is charged with:
- Luring, section 172.2(1)(b) CC;
- Sexual Exploitation, section 153(1)(b) CC; and
- Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child, section 171.1(1)(b).
DUMBA was released on a JP Undertaking with numerous conditions. His first court appearance on these charges will be October 21, 2021, in Provincial Court. This investigation is ongoing.
