On Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at approximately 7:05 a.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 2100 block of Broad Street for a report of a robbery. Early information suggested that an individual was inside the business, was carrying a firearm, and may have threatened staff. Police were given a description of the suspect and were told that the male had left the business. When officers arrived, police located a male matching the suspect description near the business. He was taken into custody without incident. As a result:
Forty year-old Robert Michael MAYER, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery Using A Firearm [CC 344 (1)(A.1)];
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88].
MAYER made his first appearance on the charges in Provincial Court this afternoon (July 20, 2021) at 2:00 p.m.
