An investigation involving an injured child is now a death investigation.
On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police were dispatched to assist other emergency responders at a residence on the 2300 block of Retallack Street. Information received was that a two year-old girl (35 months) had been seriously injured during a fall down stairs. Police arrived on scene and located the injured youth, who was transported to hospital by EMS. The child was then air-transported to Saskatoon.
On the morning of Sunday, June 13, 2021, the child passed away. Notification to next of kin has been completed.
The Regina Children’s Justice Center, in conjunction with Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is investigating the circumstances surrounding this death. The child’s name will not be released at this time.
