The Regina Police Service is encouraging all Regina residents to bring a renewed energy to following the Province’s Public Health Orders with respect to COVID-19. The Public Health Orders limit, among other things, the number of people who can gather in a private dwelling or outdoors. While most residents are giving a heroic and sustained effort to complying with these orders, there are some who still ignore these rules, potentially putting themselves and others at risk for contracting COVID-19.
Please refresh your understanding of the current Public Health Orders by visiting Saskatchewan Government webpages. The Regina Police Service also wishes to advise the Regina public that police are enforcing the Public Health Orders. From the start of 2021, until April 22nd, there have been 30 tickets, or SOTIs (Summary Offence Ticket Information) issued for Failure to Comply with the Public Health Orders. Police have monitored a number of large gatherings organized in protest of the Public Health Orders and, up to now, have focused on the organizers of these events for enforcement.
We really ARE in this together. Please, respect the laws in place for public safety and well-being, show consideration for other members of our community, and show compassion to those who have lost family members to COVID-19 or are struggling to recover from it. Thank you!
