A 36 year-old male charged in connection with a stolen vehicle is also facing a host of charges related to a recent Break & Enter and an incident of Dangerous Driving.
On Monday, March 8, 2021, at approximately 3:30 a.m., two patrol officers spotted a red Ford F-150 that matched the description of a truck stolen on March 6, 2021 from Angus Road. As the officers made a U-turn to investigate, the truck accelerated away. The officers were able to get a look at the driver and learned this vehicle was believed to be involved in an Evade Police event earlier in the evening. The vehicle was abandoned at College Avenue and Winnipeg Street. Canine officers began a track to locate the suspect, as other officers searched the area. A male suspect was located in a lane just south of 15th Avenue and arrested without incident. Investigation into this incident, as well as the March 6th theft of the truck, a March 6th break-in to a business in the 2000 block of Victoria Avenue East, and the earlier evade, led to several charges.
Thirty-six year-old Robin Ethan KAISWATUM, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 [355(a) CC];
- 2 X Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 [355(b) CC];
- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer [249.1(1) CC];
- Break Enter and Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC]; and
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [333.1(1) CC].
KAISWATUM made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021.
