The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred this afternoon (Wednesday), just before 1:50 p.m.
Police were dispatched at approximately 1:53 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, to the 2300 block of Broad Street for a report of a collision between a Regina Transit bus and a pedestrian. When police arrived, the victim, an adult male was lying in the roadway and being attended to by EMS. Patrol officers began diverting traffic away from the scene of the collision, while other officers obtained statements from potential witnesses and the driver of the bus. At approximately 2:30 p.m., police were notified that the victim had passed away.
At this early stage in the investigation, there are no other details available. Identifying the victim and notifying his next of kin will be among the immediate duties for police and the Coroner.
