Two adults: a 35 year-old male and a 34 year-old female, are facing charges after investigation into a stolen vehicle.
On December 30, 2020, police received a report of a stolen Jeep, taken some time during the night of December 29th. The vehicle was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of St. John Street. On January 6, 2021, at about 10:00 p.m., police spotted the stolen Jeep in the area of the 1800 block Toronto Street. Officers were able to safely stop the vehicle and arrested both the male driver and female passenger for possession of stolen property. Police searched the vehicle and located a quantity of methamphetamine, as well as a substance which appeared to be fentanyl. Further investigation revealed both suspects were in breach of court-ordered conditions.
Thirty-five year-old Nam NGUYEN and 34 year-old Sasha DEIS, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [334(a) CC]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance [4(1) CDSA].
In addition, NGUYEN is charged with Breach of an Undertaking [145(4)(a) CC]. DEIS is charged with a Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
Both DEIS and NGUYEN were released on Undertakings to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
