Three individuals are facing charges after an incident on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, January 2, 2021, at approximately 3:10 p.m., police were called to a business in the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a weapons offence. Early information suggested a male was seen tucking a firearm into the waistband of his pants before entering the business. It was alleged that the male then exited the store and got into a vehicle with three other occupants.
A number of Patrol units responded to the call and the suspect vehicle was located by police outside a business the 1900 block of Fleet Street. One of the four suspects was inside the business; the three other suspects were inside the suspect vehicle. Police conducted a traffic stop and two of the three occupants of the vehicle followed police commands to exit the vehicle. The third – a female passenger – did not obey and instead got into the driver’s seat and drove away. The suspect vehicle then collided with another vehicle on Winnipeg Street at the Ring Road overpass. Police attended and arrested the driver of the suspect vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was treated on scene by EMS for minor injuries.
The suspect inside the business in the 1900 block of Fleet Street was also arrested. Of the two occupants who followed police commands to exit the vehicle: one was arrested and charged, the other was taken into custody and released without charges.
In a search incident to arrest, police located a BB gun, a machete, and multiple other knives inside the vehicle. As a result:
Twenty-one year-old Delinna Tamika SEWAP-CAMPBELL, of Fort Qu’Appelle, has been charged with:
- 2 X Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129 (A)].
Twenty-nine year-old Anthony William GEDDES, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- 2 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1).
Thirty-seven year-old Shawn Lyle GEDDES, of Regina, has been charged with:
- 2 X Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90].
SEWAP-CAMPBELL, Anthony GEDDES and Shawn GEDDES will all make their first court appearances on the charges in Provincial Court on May 31, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
