On the morning of December 29, 2020, police observed a suspicious vehicle driving southbound in the area of the 1100 block of Argyle Street. The officers confirmed that the vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, had recently been reported stolen. In addition, the vehicle bore a license plate that did not match. The license plate was confirmed to have been stolen from a different vehicle.
As Police observed, the suspect vehicle stopped in the 1900 block of Halifax Street and two males got out of the jeep. Police arrested the males for stolen property. A search revealed a substance believed to be methylphenidate (Ritalin).
Twenty-nine year-old Linus James KAYSAYWAYSEMAT, and thirty year-old Michael William MAGERA, both of Regina, are charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
KAYSAYWAYSEMAT is also charged with:
- Fail to comply with conditions of a release order [CC 145(5)(A)]; and
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methyphenidate) [CDSA 4(1)].
Both accused made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, December 31, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.
