Investigation is continuing in the wake of an incident on Monday (November 23rd) that saw members of the Regina Police Service Crisis Negotiators, Special Weapons and Tactics, and Canine teams join patrol members in the 1600 block of Rae Street.
This incident began at approximately 2:11 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020, with a report from a citizen that there was a male with a firearm in a yard in the 1600 block of Rae Street. The caller indicated the male, and a female, exited a vehicle and entered a residence. Patrol members arrived at the scene and established a safety perimeter, while attempting to contact the individuals inside. A short time later, two females came out and were taken safely into custody, but police could not establish communication with individuals still believed to be inside. Emergency Services Teams: Crisis Negotiators, SWAT and Canine were authorized to attend, and eventually SWAT entered the residence, but there was no one left inside. A search warrant was executed for the residence and the vehicle. There are no charges laid in connection with this incident at this time; however, this investigation is ongoing.
