An adult male and an adult female are both facing charges after evading police during a traffic stop early Friday morning.
On Friday, November 13, 2020 at approximately 2:40 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 1st Avenue and Cameron Street. The vehicle initially pulled over for police, but before officers could approach the vehicle, the driver took off. Police again activated their lights and sirens on the marked police car, but the driver of the suspect vehicle continued to drive away from police. The vehicle was spotted driving throughout North Regina before exiting onto Highway 6. It was noted there were two occupants in the vehicle; one male driver and one female passenger.
At approximately 3:05 a.m., police located the suspect vehicle abandoned on rural property north of Tower Road and Inland Drive. An RPS K9 team initiated a track and located a gun case with two firearms in the snow. Police also located both occupants of the vehicle in a nearby field. Both were taken into custody.
