A 33 year-old male is facing charges after a police investigation into a weekend robbery.
On Saturday, October 3, 2020 at approximately 8:35 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a robbery at a business in the 500 block of Broad Street. Early information suggested that a lone male suspect entered the business armed with a firearm. The suspect held an employee at gunpoint and forced the employee to give up an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee was not physically harmed.
Investigation led police to performing a traffic stop on a vehicle on Monday, October 5, 2020 at approximately 3:20 a.m.. The male passenger of the vehicle was identified by police as the suspect in the robbery and the male was taken into custody. In a search incident to arrest, police located a pellet gun inside the vehicle. As a result:
Thirty-three year-old Joshua Chad NAHNEPOWISK, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344 (1)(B)];
- Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence [CC 85 (1)(A);
- Disguise With Intent [CC 351 (2)].
NAHNEPOWISK will make his first appearance on these charges in court on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
