A 30 year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the violent robbery of a food delivery person in May of this year.
Through this investigation, police learned that the victim, a 23 year-old male, was working during the early morning hours of May 30, 2020, and had just completed a food delivery in east Regina. The victim was sitting in his parked vehicle, using his cellphone when an unknown male knocked on his vehicle window. When the victim opened his window, the male opened the vehicle door, taking the victim’s phone and then pulling him into a house. It’s alleged the victim was taken to the basement, physically assaulted several times, and forced to inhale and ingest unknown substances, believed to be drugs. The victim was forced to transfer money to his assailant and was then taken to an ATM and made to withdraw more money. By this time, it’s alleged a female suspect had joined the unknown male suspect. Continued investigation into this case, led to the identification of the male suspect and his eventual arrest, on July 19th. Police continue to search for the female suspect.
