On Friday, July 17, 2020, at approximately 3:10 a.m., police observed a vehicle that had previously evaded police. Police attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.
Police located the vehicle later, and at approximately 3:50 a.m., police successfully deployed a tire deflation spike on East Green Ridge Gate. The vehicle came to a stop on the vehicle came to a stop on Woodland Grove Drive. The two occupants, an adult male driver and an adult female passenger, were then arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed an expandable baton, and a stolen license plate.
As a result, 37 year-old Daniel Alfred ST CYR, of Regina, is charged with:
- Flight from police officer [CC 320.17];
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)]; and
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88].
ST CYR is scheduled to appear before the court on these charges on August 26, 2020.
