Two Regina males are facing charges of assault with a weapon and mischief after a weekend incident.
On Friday, July 3, 2020, at approximately 10:39 p.m., police were called to a business in the 2100 block of Albert Street for a report of an altercation. According to preliminary investigation, two females were purchasing food at that location, when two males started yelling and swearing at them. When the women exited the business and headed toward their vehicle, it’s alleged the males made comment that a fight was about to happen. The victims locked themselves in their vehicle and the two males allegedly used a large metal pole to strike the vehicle. The victims called police and the two males were arrested without further incident. Further investigation led to charges against both males.
Thirty-two year-old Brandon Scott BELLEGARDE and 50 year-old Allan Derek SHEPHERD, both of Regina, are charged with:
– 2 X Assault with a Weapon [267(a) CC]; and
– Mischief under $5,000 [430(4) CC].
In addition SHEPHERD is charged with Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
Both BELLEGARDE and SHEPHERD were released on undertakings to appear in Provincial Court on August 13, 2020.
