A Canora male and Yorkton female are charged after combined efforts against drug trafficking by Yorkton RCMP and the Regina Integrated Crime Reduction Team.
On June 30, 2020, members of the Regina Police Service Crime Reduction Team and members of Yorkton RCMP arrested a 52 year-old female and 46 year-old male on the 3800 block of Eastgate Drive in Regina. The 52 year-old female was arrested on a warrant stemming from Yorkton RCMP drug trafficking investigation. The male, who was unlawfully at large, was also arrested.
Two CDSA search warrants were executed: one on a vehicle, and another a hotel room on the 3800 block of Eastgate Drive. Among the items recovered in the searches was two firearms, ammunition, currency, body armour, and drug paraphernalia. Substances believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine were also seized. As a result, both arrested were charged.
Fifty-two year-old Linda BECKER of Yorkton and forty-six year-old Kyle Robert FOREMAN of Canora are jointly charged with:
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Tampering with serial number of a firearm [CC 108(1)(A)];
- Careless storage of a firearm [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90]; and
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle [CC 94(1)].
BECKER is also charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355]; and
- 2 X Possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)].
FOREMAN is also charged with:
- 2 X Possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)].
After enforcement action taken by Yorkton RCMP and Regina Police Service that occurred on June 14, 2020, Linda Becker is also charged with the following:
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphone) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl) [CDSA 5(2)].
BECKER and FOREMAN made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, July 2, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
