On June 5, 2016 at approximately 7:21 PM Police were dispatched to the intersection 1st Ave North and Halifax Street for a report of an accident involving a vehicle and a 10-year-old female cyclist. The cyclist was treated by EMS at the scene and received minor injuries.
Police conducted an investigation to learn that the motorist proceeded westbound on 1st Ave North while the cyclist attempted to cross southbound on Halifax street when she was struck by the motorist. Independent witnesses were interviewed by police.
A 29-year-old female driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic safety act ticket for sec. 32(1), driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
