An eighteen year-old Regina woman is charged with Robbery and a Breach of Probation after an incident that occurred in the 400 block of North McCarthy Boulevard today, Friday, September 24, 2010.
At approximately 12:20 p.m., police officers were dispatched to a location in the 400 block of North McCarthy Boulevard for a report of a robbery. The preliminary information indicated that the male victim was an off-duty police officer. The investigation indicates the 28 year-old victim, a member with the Regina Police Service who was on days off, was exiting a store when a female allegedly attempted to rob him of his purchase. The victim got into a struggle with the female suspect and gained control of her before police arrived to make the arrest. The suspect sustained a bloodied nose from the struggle. There were no other injuries. The responding police officers obtained victim and witness statements and transported the suspect to Police Headquarters. Further investigation led to two charges against the woman.
Eighteen year-old Autumn Rain SANDERSON, DOB: 1992-04-10, of Regina is charged with Robbery [344(b) CC] and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. She was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on October 25, 2010.
