A 44 year-old male is charged following an investigation into a fatal collision that occurred on October 12, 2025 in the 3400 block of Dewdney Avenue.
Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on October 12, 2025, police were dispatched to a report of a collision with injuries. Police, Regina Fire and Protective Services and EMS responded. When they arrived, they located a seriously injured female lying on the ground. EMS pronounced the 19 year-old victim deceased on scene.
Initial investigation revealed the freight truck was travelling east on Dewdney Avenue when the driver failed to stop at a red light and collided with a vehicle travelling south on Elphinstone Street. The driver of the south-bound vehicle suffered minor injuries. The freight truck then left the roadway and struck the 19 year-old female victim, who was inside a bus shelter. The truck collided with several fences and a streetlight before coming to a stop a short distance away in the front yard of a residence on Dewdney Avenue.
