Investigation into this week’s death of an 18-month old male child continues by the Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. At this time investigators say they now consider this to be a suspicious death and are treating the case as a criminal investigation.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at approximately 10:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Arens Road East to assist emergency responders. Police arrived and assisted EMS on scene with the injured child, who was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators with the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit are working in conjunction with the Coroners Service to determine the circumstances of the death. There are no further details available at this stage of the investigation.
