The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in solving the theft of a unique item: a racing wheelchair.
Police were dispatched at 7:21 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020, to an apartment residence in downtown Regina on the 1800 block of Hamilton Street. Preliminary investigation indicates an unknown person or persons entered the building’s parkade and stole a custom-style racing wheelchair. The owner believes the theft happened sometime between the night of June 10th and about 5:00 p.m on June 11th. The racing wheelchair is silver, with red lettering. The large rear wheels are black carbon-fibre, with the brand “CORIMA” in white lettering. Officers did an area check but did not find the chair and searched for any potential physical evidence left at the scene. Police are continuing their investigation which includes looking for possible surveillance video and also checking internet marketplace sites, where something of this sort might be posted for sale by the thief.
