A 34 year-old male is facing charges after investigation into a business Break and Enter last night (Tuesday).
On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at about 10:20 p.m., the Police Communications Centre received a call reporting a vehicle stolen from a business in the 200 block of Albert Street. Preliminary information received indicated the vehicle was parked inside the shop belonging to the business. The suspect drove the vehicle through the closed garage door and sped away north-bound on Albert Street. The stolen vehicle, a 1983 Porsche 944, was spotted by officers in the Glen Elm neighbourhood, a short time later and a male was taken into custody without further incident. Police noted evidence on his person consistent with the break and enter scene. The male was subsequently charged.
Thirty-four year-old Samuel WARIAT, of Regina is charged with:
- Break and Enter and Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC];
- Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 [355(a) CC]; and
- Breach of conditions [145(5)(a) CC].
WARIAT made his first court appearance on these charges at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
