A 19 year-old male is facing numerous charges including Uttering Threats and Arson after an incident early Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched simultaneously to two locations at about 6:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020. In one location police found a female victim who indicated she was receiving messages, from a person known to her, containing threats to herself and others, as well as messages about damage to her property and the property of others. Other units responded to a location in the 1400 block of York Street, where they found a house which had been damaged by fire. Fortunately, there were no occupants in the house at the time of the fire. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 19 year-old male who was subsequently charged. Investigators believe these events were not random and do not pose an increased risk to the general public.
Nineteen year-old Keenan Bailey LONGMAN, of McLean, SK, is charged with
- Break and Enter with intent to commit Arson [348(1)(a) CC];
- Arson [434 CC];
- Mischief under $5,000 [430(4) CC];
- Uttering Threats [264.1(1)(a) CC]; and
- Breach of Undertaking [145(5)(a) CC].
LONGMAN made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020.
