On Sunday April 26, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a report of a motor vehicle incident was received at the intersection of Rochdale Blvd and North Devonshire Drive.
The investigation determined a vehicle was traveling west bound on Rochdale Blvd and disobeyed a posted stop sign at the North Devonshire Drive intersection. This vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle in the intersection, hit the curb and flipped on to its side along the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, fled the scene of the incident on foot. With the assistance of witnesses, attending police officers were able to locate, identify and arrest the adult male driver. The driver was transported to hospital by EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries resulting for the vehicle rolling on its side and airbag deployment.
Twenty-one year-old Christian Michael HAGEL, of Regina, has been charged with the following criminal offences and will be appearing in Provincial Court June 30, 2020:
- Sec 320.16 (1) CC- Failure to stop after accident
- Sec 129 (a) CC – Obstruct a Police Officer
- Sec 320.18 CC – Drive while Prohibited x 2
The accused, HAGEL, was released on an officer undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on June 30, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.
