On Friday, April 10, 2020, at approximately 3:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 800 block of Princess Street for the report of a robbery and stolen vehicle. Information received was that a male was inside a residence when two males entered, one armed with a firearm and the other a knife, demanding his belongings. After a physical altercation, the victim went outside to discover his vehicle stolen. The male with the firearm exited the residence and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim then left.
Police arrived and cleared the residence. Investigation led to a 21 year-old male, who was charged with robbery. The 21 year-old male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. No weapon was recovered at the scene. A female in attendance was also arrested for an unrelated outstanding warrant. The stolen vehicle was later located abandoned on the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue.
Twenty-one year-old Thomas Troy KAISAWATUM, of Regina, is charged with:
- Utter threats [CC 264.1(1)(A)];
- Assault [CC 266];
- Fail to comply with release order [CC 145(5)(A)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)]; and
- Armed robbery using a restricted firearm [CC 344(1)(A)].
KAISWATUM made his first appearance in Provincial Court on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
