Two males – one adult and one youth – are charged in connection with a break and enter that occurred early this morning.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at approximately 1:10 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Albert Street for a report of a break and enter in progress. Early information provided to police suggested a group of males had unlawfully entered a residence and allegedly assaulted a male with a machete once they were inside. The injured male was treated and cleared by EMS at the scene.
Upon arrival, police arrested two male suspects who were seen fleeing the scene. A third male suspect has been identified to police and is being sought. As a result:
Eighteen year-old Dillon Joseph BIRD of Regina has been charged with:
- Break and Enter & Commit [CC 348 (1) (B)];
- Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Unauthorized Possession of A Firearm [CC 91(1)]; and
- Fail to Comply With Probation Order {733.1(1)].
A 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Break And Enter With Intent [CC 348 (1)(A)];
- Fail To Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A).
BIRD made his first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court on April 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
The male youth made his first court appearance in Provincial Youth Court on April 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
