The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed an investigation into illegal drug trafficking within the City of Regina. As a result of the investigation, enforcement action was completed on Friday, March 27, 2020. A CDSA search warrant was executed in the 2100 block of Hamilton Street, resulting in two individuals: a male and female, being taken into custody.
The results of the search yielded just under half a kilogram of methamphetamine, Canadian currency, a cross bow, conducted energy weapon and other items used to traffic controlled substances.
As a result of the investigation, 47 year-old Dolfikir Iaas AHMED and 46 year-old Jennifer Dawn KORMISH, both of Regina, SK, are jointly charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine) [5(2) CDSA]; and
- Possession of proceeds of crime (Canadian Currency) under $5000 [355(b) CC].
In addition, AHMED was charged with:
- Failing to comply with condition of a release order [145(5)(a) CC]; and
- Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order [117.01(1) CC].
KORMISH received an additional charge for unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon [91(2)CC].
AHMED was remanded into custody while KORMISH was released with a court date of June 9, 2020.
